The booking process depends on a few key factors:
- Your MSU affiliation – Different processes exist for Registered Student Organizations (RSO), residents in a residence hall, staff/faculty departments, non-MSU affiliation
- Location of requested room – Spaces are managed by various organizations, such as University Conference Services (UCS), Residential Education (ResEd), Classroom Scheduling, and Living-Learning Communities (LLCs).
- Day & Time of your event:
- Monday – Friday until 6 p.m.: most classrooms are managed by Classroom Scheduling.
- Monday – Friday from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. & all-day Saturday & Sunday: spaces in residence halls are managed by UCS or ResED
- Events that crossover times will require 2 approvals (example: an event from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.)
- Academic Calendar:
- Rooms are bookable almost every day during academic year with some exceptions:
- Rooms are not bookable during move-in, finals weeks, winter break, or spring break
Once you submit your request, processing times may vary. Please allow at least 5 business days for a response.
Are you making the booking for a Registered Student Org?
Involve@State is MSU’s engagement portal, connecting students to co-curricular opportunities and helping RSOs manage operations like rosters, event requests, and registrations.
Are you a student, but not affiliated with an RSO?
- Email your neighborhood REHS department and, if your event begins before 6 p.m. (Monday – Friday), also place a request on 25Live. You will need to share your 25Live approval with REHS.
